Boat Shrink Wrapping — Protection That Lasts All Winter

Shrink wrapping is the gold standard for protecting your boat during the harsh Ontario winter. A properly applied shrink wrap seal keeps out moisture, snow, ice and UV damage — and is far more effective than a tarp for long-term outdoor storage.

Our shrink wrap service covers all boat types and sizes, including:

  • Runabouts and bowriders

  • Pontoon boats

  • Fishing boats and aluminum boats

  • Ski and wakeboard boats

  • Sailboats

  • Larger cabin cruisers

Shrink wrapping is applied on-site at our Lakefield facility after your boat is dropped off. Pricing is based on vessel size — contact us for a quote.

Boat Engine & System Winterization

Proper winterization is the most important thing you can do to protect your boat's engine, plumbing and mechanical systems from freeze damage over the Ontario winter. Skipping this step — or doing it incorrectly — can result in cracked engine blocks, damaged water systems and costly repairs come spring.

A complete boat winterization typically includes:

  • Engine fogging — coating internal engine components with fogging oil to prevent corrosion during storage

  • Flushing and draining the cooling system — removing all water from raw-water cooled and freshwater cooled engines to prevent freeze cracking

  • Fuel system stabilization — adding fuel stabilizer to prevent fuel degradation and gumming in carburetors or fuel injectors over the off-season

  • Battery removal or maintenance — disconnecting and storing the battery or connecting a trickle charger to maintain charge through winter

  • Gear oil changes — draining and replacing lower unit gear oil to remove any water contamination before it freezes and causes damage

  • Flushing and draining raw water systems — including live wells, bilge pumps, raw water strainers and sea cocks

  • Interior and canvas prep — removing valuables, opening lockers for airflow and securing or removing canvas covers before shrink wrapping

Do it right, once — before storage. Many boaters handle winterization themselves, but if you're unsure about any step, it's worth having it done professionally before your boat goes into storage. Catching a problem in the fall is far less expensive than discovering freeze damage in the spring.

Drop your boat off at G Storage already winterized, or coordinate winterization and shrink wrapping together so your boat goes into storage fully protected and ready for next season.
